I sometimes go months without painting. This was one of those times. It’s been five months or so since I painted anything worthwhile—not that I felt the urge to paint often. This week I painted a lot, and turned out a few pieces I really like. Namely, the two mermaids and the hippocampus above. The merman is an older work that I painted a few years ago as an homage to Anela Deen’s Beneath Cruel Fathoms. I included it because I like to look at the similarities and the differences of my designs. Also, that blue makes me happy.
This weeks’ work is on Redbubble and Teepublic, available on a variety of clothing items (like tees and hats) and household items (like notebooks and coasters) and stickers (which is what I’m planning to get). The small stationary offerings are quite reasonably priced, postcards and stickers and the like. Those are my favorite ways to collect art, limited wall space and all that.
It was really lovely to feel like painting again

it's all so lovely, but the hippocampus is *chef's kiss*!
