If I like something I’ve drawn or painted I scan it. Sometimes I scan if it I think someone else might like it even if I don’t.
I got a new computer last summer—it was time, my desktop crashed randomly. Which wasn’t a huge problem because I save often and have solid autosavers and cloud back up but it was still a problem—but the new computer only sort of talks to the printer. The printer is also relatively new, and still shows up and installs and certain programs can use it—but the printer app, the one that enables the scanner function on the printer, THAT app won’t speak to the printer anymore on wifi. It’s infuriating because the set up we have precludes having the printer close to the pc with any permanence and the scanner is, honestly, the function I use more.
It’s how I scan my art for prints. Or just scan it for posterity or social media or furthering digitally.
What’s more, my Microsoft programs are iffy on printing. The Adobe ones are pretty reliable, but the others are a little hit and miss. This might just be the regularly issue of the printer being asleep and the wake up being dicey—just as it was from the start.
I’ve ordered a 10 foot USB extension cord so I don’t have to keep unplugging the printer and carrying it across the room to set it up for the 3 minutes it takes to scan an image and save it.
This is just me complaining because I have a show coming up and painted a cute porcupine that I may or may not be able to use and I have 100% been procrastinating on dealing with the printer.
Oh, I have a show coming up. Surprise!
If you’re local, you’ll be able to see and purchase my art at Ridgetop Coffee in Sterling, VA in the month of March. I haven’t decided yet, but I may be hosting a little artist reception event.
This show will heavily feature my coffee cup critters because it’s a coffee shop and I adore them. Some of my other cute animals will be in attendance as well. I’m currently planning for the fairies to sit this one out. Might be a mistake, but I’d like to see what happens without them.
I'm so excited about your art exhibit at the coffee shop! I hope you sell a lot of them! :)
